Obituary of Helen Huggan

Helen Huggan

June 24, 1917 - August 8, 2008
Our dear mom, Helen Elizabeth Huggan passed away quietly on August 8 in her 92nd year. She had a long life, filled with laughter, love and optimism in the face of challenge. Mom loved to cook, to play bridge, to read and do daily crosswords. She was never happier than in the aisles of a fabric store dreaming about her next quilt. Her creative spirit lives on in her children, son John (Val) of Kitchener and daughter Jane (Frank) in Edmonton. Helen also leaves to mourn her passing, two gifted grandsons, Peter in Halifax and Aaron of Edmonton. As well, many wonderful friends in the K-W and Cambridge area will remember her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen was predeceased by her husband John (Jack), sister, Mildred and parents Charles and Hilda Cresswell.
The family wishes to offer our heartfelt thanks to the kind staff at Chateau Gardens, Elmira, who so patiently attended our mom during these past months. We are most grateful that she got to come home to the countryside she loved so well.
In respecting Helen's wish, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to the Salvation Army may be arranged through the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo 519.745.8445 or www.erbgood.com.
In living memory of Helen, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
