Obituary of Elaine Kunda

Elaine Kunda
(NEE FARWELL) June 12, 1941 – August 4, 2010 After an energetic and active life well lived, Elaine Theresa Kunda (nee Farwell) of Mannheim was called Home to eternal happiness by God the Father on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 with her family at her side. Remaining to cherish and treasure her memory are her loving children, Stacy Finoro of Puslinch, Stephen Kunda of Mannheim, and Melissa Kunda-Maher of Lynn Lake, Manitoba; sons-in-law Rino Finoro and Sean Maher. Samantha and Nicole Finoro and Mason Maher, her loving grandchildren, will forever remember her affection, care and love for them. Elaine will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives, especially her sisters Joan Thomas of Burlington, and Marjorie MacDonald of Southampton, her brother Rev. Murray Farwell of Mount Forest and her brother- in-law Wayne MacDonald. Elaine influenced many young people during her life having had the privilege of teaching elementary school with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Family and friends were very important to Elaine. Besides her immediate family she kept in regular touch with the many members of her extended family and very often was the catalyst in organizing family get-togethers. Elaine was an avid golfer and loved to be on the course with friends whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was full of life and constantly on the go. She knew how to fix anything and if she didn’t know she researched it and did it. If you wanted something fixed or repaired you contacted Elaine. For the last 11 years Elaine fought valiantly and courageously against cancer. In the minds of many we would say that she won numerous of those battles. We mourn her death but our faith tells us that we will meet again and that for her, “life has not ended but only changed.” Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s RC Church, 55 Driftwood Drive, Kitchener, on Friday, 6 August at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Condolences for the family and donations to Lisaard House, Cambridge may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
