<h1>Paul Cardinal</h1> Paul Cardinal peacefully passed way on August 31, 2010 at the age of 56. Paul will be forever remembered by his wife Marguerite; and daughters Nicole and Danielle. Paul will also be mourned by his brother Marc and his family (Blackfoot Idaho); aunt Gertrude Blais (Ottawa); nieces in BC; as well as canine family members Marshmellow and Crosby. Paul achieved his BSc Hons. in physics from the University of Ottawa in 1976, followed by a Masters and PHD from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies in laser physics. Although he was initially employed developing lasers for industrial and educational purposes, the highlight of Paul’s career was working with Research in Motion (RIM). Paul began his career with RIM in 2000 and thrived with the challenges of being the Director of RIM Testing Services. He considered himself to be extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to grow with this dynamic company. Paul pursued personal interests in history and genealogy, music, and was an avid reader of science fiction novels. A keen traveler, Paul’s goal was to visit the 100 Wonders of the World. Cremation has already taken place. Friends and co-workers are invited to attend a memorial service and reception to celebrate Paul’s life on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to establish an award/scholarship “in Memory of Paul Cardinal” can be made to the CFUW K-W Charitable Fund, 88 McCarron Cres., Waterloo ON, N2L 5N2 and would be greatly appreciated.
