<h1>John Inglis</h1> 1923 – 2008 Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 3, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of Irene (nee Barclay) for 59 years; devoted father of Ian Inglis (Alison nee Lopes); lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Nigel and Paige and step-grandchildren, Christina, Julie, Matthew and Lisa; also survived by his brother-in-law, Stewart Barclay (Betty), his niece, Jacqueline Shantz (Paul), nephews, Bob Barclay (Wanda) and Stewart Barclay (Kelly). Predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Inglis; his brother George Inglis; and sister-in-law Helen Donaldson. John served as a navigator, flying mosquito planes in the Royal Air Force. He was a London “Bobby” for the Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard. After taking early retirement, he and Irene owned and operated the Schiehallion Hotel in Dunblane, Scotland. They immigrated to Canada in 1981. Here in Kitchener he owned and operated Dunblane Restaurant and managed Bingo Country. John was also a member of the KW Kiwanis Club. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Ken Taylor officiating. Reception to follow the service.
