<h1>Valentin Petschnig</h1> PETSCHNIG, VALENTIN Valentin, passed away peacefully, at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, On, August 27, 2010 at the age of 82 years, recently predeceased by his lovely wife Eleonore, predeceased by his father Ferdinand Petschnig, his mother Anna Rabitsch and his brother Josef Petschnig and sister Mitzi Schwab. Survived by his children, Brigitte Susanne Mausser and Karin Bruggemann. Valentin is fondly remembered by his grand children, Kirsten and Melissa Bruggemann, Amy, Ryan and Christy Mausser. Valentin was born in Klagenfurt, Austria, on Aug 11, 1928, graduated in 1950 with a diploma in Cabinet Making. At the age of 14, he was drafted into the military for several many months until injured during World War 11. Valentin and Eleonore were married in Klafenfurt , Austria on Oct 24th, 1954 and immigrated to Canada in 1956 with their 9 month old daughter Brigitte. Their second daughter, Karin was born a year later in 1957. He began working for Hentschel Furniture Ltd. in November 1957 and later opened his own cabinet making business Vals Custom Furniture Ltd in 1984. He will be remembered for his passion for woodworking, his business and his time spent as a master clock builder and cabinet maker at Hentschel ,Baetz, Colonial Clock Co. But most of all, for the beautiful home and property he and Eleonore created over 40 years near St. Clements., On. Valentin, a devoted Christian, who is a beloved member of the Kitchener Seventh-day Adventist Church , served many years as a church head deacon. He will be dearly missed by, his family, his church family, and his dear and close friends. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Saturday, September 4th, 2010 at 5pm. Friends are invited to share their memories of Valentin with his family and friends at the visitation which will follow the service from 6-8 pm. Cremation has taken place.
