Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, on August 26, 2009, at the age of 74. He was born in New Dundee on September 14, 1934.
He is survived by his step-son, Daniel MacGillivary; sister-in-law, Marilyn Borsje; nieces, Deanna Ireland, and her daughter Svea, Sheryl Borsje and his aunt, Grace Holm.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann Hazel Sararas (MacGillivary) (2003); his mother Ludena May Sararas (Toman) (2004); father, Ivan Herbert Sararas (1963); and his brother-in-law, Gregory McKay.
He was employed in the office, first at Dare Foods, then at B.F. Goodrich for almost 35 years. He also drove taxi for City Cab.
Bob enjoyed sports and umpired many Industrial League games and managed the New Dundee Dodgers baseball team.
Family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday (today), from 7 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bonnie Schelter-Brown officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service, with interment in New Dundee Union Cemetery.
