<h1>Clarence Bechtel</h1> 1922 – 2007 Peacefully, at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo, on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at age 84. Beloved husband of Doris for 61 years; loving father of Dick and Theresa, Larry and Cheryl, Bob, Judith Martin, and Brenda and Jim Polillo; loved grandfather of Cheryl and Don MacTavish, Joanne and Andy Volcansek, Kim and Shane Droog, Dawson Bechtel, Mackenzie and Marc Murphy, and Jacquoline Martin; great-grandfather of Sara, Ryan, Jason, Cameron, Nathan, Rhyan, and Kaden; dear brother of Pricilla Jones, Almeda Reeve, and Gerine Heubach. Predeceased by his parents, Laura and Herbert Bechtel, and by sisters, Mabel Morrison and Evelyn Noble. Clare was a lifelong member and usher at St. Michael’s Church, and was a veteran of the Second World War. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and playing cards. Friends are invited to share their memories of Clare with his family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. A morning prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s RC Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Malone as celebrant. Interment in Parkview Cemetery will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall of the church. Special thanks to Dr. Pope, nurses, and staff of Pinehaven Nursing Home for their love and care.
