<h1>Gerald Smerchinski</h1> At the first hole of the Westmount Golf and Country Club, doing what he loved to do, surrounded by his golfing buddies, Jer passed away suddenly on August 22, 2008. Jer was the best friend and husband of Joan Talbot, dear dad of Rick and his wife Alison, Tammy (Kathy) and Jonathan. Step dad to Jenn Lopez (Tony) and Trisha Gibson-Neeb (Ryan). Special Papa Jer to Lyla, Peter, Eve, Ivy, Grace, Brett, Gabriel, Jasper and Oliver. Brother of Robert (Bob). Predeceased by his mother and father, Sylvia and Walter. Jer will be missed by his extended family and wide circle of friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jer with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, August 26 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Jer’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 50 Erb Street West, Waterloo on Wednesday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Walter McLean officiating. A reception will follow at the Westmount Golf and Country Club. Cremation will have taken place.
