Mayaki Our Dad's heart is a mountain A landscape seen, and shaped by elements unseen Built of bedrock, its upper reaches dwell in heaven. Our Dad's heart is cascading rivers in the springtime Uncontained generosity endlessly tumbling out Seeking its route but breaching its banks. Our Dad's heart is the root of the tree Nurtured innocently in Christ, mositened by devotion His grace filled word a tenacious bond. Our Dad's heart is compressed carbon Forged by the blinding fire of faith in a hidden furnace A tempered conviction fit to meet every terrible assault. Our Dad's heart is big as a boulder Bold as a bear, soft as a bird in flight His passing seasons seen in the blink of an eye, Turned toward eternity. Our Dad's human heart stopped When it could no longer contain the overflowing grace Of veiled treasures bequeathed by God. Our Dad's heart is a shining sun An exposing light, a penetrating ray, an all embracing comfort In our hearts his heart beckons As a standard to reach for, an example to follow. Garth
