<h1>Thomas Bruce</h1> 1926 - 2008 On Friday August 1, 2008, Thomas Donaldson Bruce, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 56 years to Margaret (nee Hutcheson). Proud father of Lorna and Paul (Shannon). Grandfather to Derek. Loving brother of Maureen Lawrence and brother-in-law to Gus MacDonald. Special uncle to Kevin, Mark, Michael, Brian, David and Susie. Predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Thomas Bruce; sister, Beatrice MacDonald and brother-in-law, Dennis Lawrence. Born in Dundee, Scotland, Tom proudly served in the R.A.F. as a communications operator at the age of 17. Immigrating to Canada in 1958, Tom had a distinguished career in the wood working industry, with a variety of companies, including Electrohome, Simmons and Heintzman. He retired as a business consultant specializing in improving efficiency within the industry. An avid outdoors man, Tom’s passions included skiing, hiking, gardening and traveling. He particularly enjoyed “solving the world’s problems’ over a glass of Scotland’s finest single malt. At Thomas’s request, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will follow at a later date.
