After 30 years with MRA, she and Dick settled down in Los Angeles where she worked as a secretary at Loyola Marymount University. In 1976 they retired to an orchard farm in Vernon, BC, where she was involved with the Anglican Church, the symphony and together with Dick took part in Amnesty International and ran International Affairs conferences. She lived in Waterloo for the last 15 years of her life, where she enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow and being involved in their lives. She made many new friends and kept in touch with old friends, faithfully phoning those she could no longer see in person.
