<h1>Ruth Bauer</h1> (Nee Oetzel) 1917 – 2008 Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in her 91st year. Devoted mother of Dick and his wife Ruth, Bob and his wife Deborah, and Elizabeth “Betsy”. Beloved grandmother of Paul, Kathryn, Rob and his wife Georgeta, David and his wife Terri, Virginia Duyvestyn and her husband Glenn. Cherished great-grandmother of Max, Marissa, Cameron, Branden and Rachel. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Herman Bauer, and her parents Herman and Marie Elizabeth Oetzel. Ruth resided at Luther Village for the past nine years. She was a former organist and choir director for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She was an avid writer, a dedicated volunteer and a devoted Foster Parent. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ruth with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Ruth’s life and faith will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday, May 4 at 3 pm with the Rev. Dr. Peeter Vanker of Markham officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the Funeral Home. Private family interment in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Breslau. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society and can be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com. or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Ruth a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
