<h1>Beverley Owers</h1> (nee Scarlett) 1935 – 2010 On Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital in her 75th year. Born in Hamilton to Joseph (Ray) (D 1989) and Gladys (D 2001) Scarlett. A cherished mother, she will be sadly missed by her children, Dr. Wendy Owers and her husband Jim Gray of Mannheim, Tracey and her husband Ron Lopers of Waterloo, and Kristyn Owers of Toronto; she will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Nicholas and Taylor Lopers, Hunter Gray, and Selma Owers; Dear sister of Patricia (Pat) and the late John (Jake) Fallis of Caledon and Cheryl Mills of Stroud; she will remain in the hearts of her nieces and nephews Glen (Kim) of Bolton, Lynne (Ron) of Iowa, Lisa (Lorne) of Caledon, Jeremy, Jeffrey, and Jaime of Stroud, and her grandnephew Adam; cousin of Ruth Scarlett (Ken) Muir of Grand Rapids, MI; Carol Moore of Pennsylvania and Frances Clark (Lorne) of California; special friend of Val Zietsma who spent many hours with Bev both before and during her time of need. Bev grew up in Hamilton, Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Port Credit, and Burlington. She worked for Metropolitan Life in Hamilton, Toronto, and Kitchener/Galt; she was a Chiropractic Assistant for 17 years; taught at Conestoga College for 30 years and at the Senior Centre at Victoria School/Downtown Community Centre; she became a travel agent in 1982 and was still working at Frederick Travel and her teaching positions until the middle of January. She enjoyed travelling and saw many places around the world. She also liked spending time in nature, socializing, and live theatre. Bev was a Charter Member of K-W LaSertoma, Past Director of Confederation Club, member of Waterloo Region Chiropractic Society Auxiliary, Treasurer of Bits and Bytes Computer Club, Charter Member of Kitchener Heritage Probus Club, member of Rockway Canasta Group, Social member of Wing 404, Active member of Grand Valley Trails and past treasurer of Waterloo-Wellington Canoe Club. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bev with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, May 3 at 2 p.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo will immediately take place, followed by a reception at the funeral home.
