Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Trinity Village Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of Rosina Rose (nee Walter). Cherished step-father of Inge Ford (Lewis) and Klaus Stuetz (Melody) both of Kitchener. Father of John Innes (Carol) of London and Lynn (David Coriat) of Richmond Hill. Grandfather of Gregory (Tara) of Toronto, Meribeth (Christopher Beauchamps) of St. Thomas, Christopher (London), Jessica of Richmond Hill, Andrew and Matthew (Kitchener). Survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Eric and Kailey. Lovingly remembered by his brothers Bill Innes (Pam) of Toronto and Robert Innes of Ancaster. Predeceased by his parents William Innes and Jenny (nee Williams) and by sister-in-law Diane Innes.
Ted enjoyed a long and successful career as an accountant. He was also an educator with what is now the Society of Management Accounts as well as a Canadian Colombo Plan Advisor who helped establish the Pakistan Institute of Industrial Accountants in Karachi.
Ted was always an active church member. He served as an elder in several Presbyterian congregations and upon joining the Martin Luther Church, soon was serving as its treasurer for eight years. It was here that he also implemented a successful monthly Mens Breakfast featuring guest speakers from many walks of life. Ted was a quiet, gentle individual who loved and appreciated his family, enjoyed Scottish Country Dancing, celebrating Scottish and German cultures, traveling, a game of cards or cribbage and reading his daily newspaper.
The family wishes to thank the Pinewood staff of Trinity Village LTCC. The kindness, care and compassion youve shown to Ted will always be remembered.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, April 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2 p.m., the Rev. Manfred Strauss officiating. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau. Following the interment friends are invited to Martin Luther Church, 53 Church St., Kitchener for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
