<h1>Stefan Holowackyj</h1> 1921 - 2010 With saddened hearts the family announces the death of Stefan Holowackyj at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener, ON on April 24, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Stefan was born in Wolostkow, Ukraine in the district of Sadowa – Wyshenski on January 2, 1921 to John and Mary Holowackyj. He immigrated to Canada in December of 1951 and worked as a miner for Inco in Sudbury, ON for 32 years until retirement. In June of 1959 he married Franciska Perko (predeceased in 2007). He was the loving father of Annie Hansen (Michael) of Calgary, AB and John Holowackyj of Kitchener, ON and a step-father to Franc Perko (Marie-Therese) of France. He was a loving and caring grandfather, “Dido” to his grandchildren Amanda and Janelle in Calgary, AB and Francois and Caroline in France. Predeceased by brothers Michael, Anton, Joseph and sisters Katarina and Sophie, he is survived by his sister Karolina Moczerad in Etobicoke, ON and numerous nephews and nieces. His passion in life was his family, nature and gardening. The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful and caring staff at Sunnyside Home.
