John passed away at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the age of 89 years.
Beloved husband of Willy for 60 years. Dear father of Maria Long and husband Richard of Cambridge, Mary Ann Pearson and husband Ron of Cambridge, Diane Cober and husband Dennis of Kitchener, and Joan Rederer and husband Jim of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Rick Long and wife Jen, Carl Cober and wife Amanda, Caroline (Long) Cassidy and husband Steve, Terri-Lyn Pearson and partner Ron Rooke, Sarah Cober and fiance Adam Snider, Scott Pearson and partner Maresa MacAskill, Amy (Cober) Ditner and husband Joe, Michael Rederer, Chris Rederer, and Melanie Cober. John is survived by two sisters and two brothers in the Netherlands.
John retired from Greb Shoe Industries in 1983.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of John with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo, on Thursday, April 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 8:45 pm. A morning prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 10:00 am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. W., Waterloo at 10:30 am, Friday, with the Rev. Edward Sheridan as celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the interment in the parish hall.
