<h1>Leslie Usher</h1> 1920 – 2008 Passed away with his family at his side at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Ella May (nee Miller) for 64 years. Devoted father of Ken (Elaine) and John (Patricia) of Waterloo. Grandfather of Peter Usher (Marnie), Karen Keelan, Mark and Daniel Usher. Les is also survived by his four great-grandchildren. Brother of Roy, William, Lorne (Edmonton) and Stella Lacouture. Les was born on June 19, 1920 in South Vancouver B.C. to Henry (1928) and Catherine E. Usher (1969). He served in the Canadian Naval Forces on her Majesty’s Ship Stadacona stationed in Halifax Nova Scotia. Les had many cherished friends with whom he had great fun and maintained close relationships throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Trinity United Church, Kitchener. In his spare time he participated in Trinity’s Mr. &amp; Mrs. Club, The Granite Club, bridge clubs, golfing and theatre. Les enjoyed time in Kincardine at the trailer and winters with the Florida Snowbirds. The memorial service to celebrate Les’ life will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating, with visitation prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Les’ unwavering integrity, quiet care and compassion for others, endeared him to his family and friends and those whose lives he touched. In living memory of Les, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
