<h1>Ruth Marsland</h1> Ruth Marsland, in her 93rd year, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her residence, Nithview Long Term Care, New Hamburg. She had just had a wonderful visit by her whole family on Easter Sunday. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children and their families, Gary of Kitchener and wife Catherine (Kimberly and sons Nathan and Brendan), Sandra (Phillips) Thompson of New Hamburg and husband Ralph (Brent and Linda Phillips and sons Dylan and Dustin), D. Kim of Thunder Bay and wife Kathy (Eric and Chad and wife Jackie), Dianne Meloun of Kitchener and husband Norm. Ruth is also survived by sisters Eileen Neeb, Dolly Weaver (Don), Honey Hoflinger (Nick) and brother Sonny Hamel (Pat). Also by many nieces and nephews and their families. Ruth was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lily Hamel. She was predeceased by her dear husband of 50 years, Eric in 1988. Also predeceased by her sister Miriam and brothers-in-law Reg Nichols and Merv Neeb and all of Eric’s four siblings and their wives. Predeceased by son-in-law Ron Phillips (1992), granddaughter Sue Phillips (1996), and brother Earl in infancy. Ruth was a faithful member of Calvary Memorial United Church in Kitchener and, during the five years she lived with her daughters, she also attended Zion United Church in New Hamburg. Ruth’s family will receive friends and family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 2 – 3 pm with the service following in the funeral home chapel at 3 pm, Saturday. Rev. Robert Thaler will officiate. A family interment will follow at a later date.
