<h1>Erich Iljas</h1> 1928 – 2008 Erich passed away, peacefully, following a lengthy illness, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, April 11, 2008, in his 80th year. Survived by his partner, Ann Tillich of Waterloo. Loving father of Liz Iljas-Witzel and Manfred and his wife Rosemary and grandfather of Tanya and Thomas. Survived by his brother Franz (Maria) of Germany. Predeceased by his wife Priska in 1991. Erich came to Canada from Austria in 1957 as a certified general machinist and quickly found work in the aerospace industry. Ten years later he co-founded AQA Industries and in 1979 he founded Novy Manufacturing and Assembly Inc. with his son, Manfred. Erich worked there until he retired in 1997. Friends are invited to share memories of Erich with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, April 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family burial will follow. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Movement Disorders Research and Rehabilitation Centre at Wilfrid Laurier University. In living memory of Erich, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
