<h1>Hedwig "Hedy" Walker</h1> 1925 - 2010 Passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Cherished wife of Roy for 64 years. Loving mother of Dianne Walker and Robert Walker and his wife Linda Mortsch. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Simon, Sarah and John Martinek and Patrick and Allison Walker, her great-granddaughter Bethany; sister Lillian Gignac; brothers Larry Kurtz (Colleen) and Ronald Kurtz (Sarah) and brother-in-law Art Wilder. Also missed by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Allen and Iona, many nieces and nephews and good friends Wally Seip and Judy Signer. Predeceased by her parents John and Anna Kurtz and her sister Betty Wilder. Hedy was a member of the Waterloo County Quilters Guild and was honored as the featured artist at the St. Jacobs Quilt Show in 2006, and through her career as a telephone operator at Bell Canada a member of the Bell Pioneer group. Friends are invited to share their memories of Hedy with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 700 Glen Forest Blvd, Waterloo, on Wednesday, April 14 at 1 p.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Following the burial everyone is invited to join the family for a reception back at the church. Hedy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Freeport Hospital for the compassionate care given to Hedy during her time there.
