<h1>Donald Dietrich</h1> 1937 – 2009 Passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the age of 71 years. Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Hilda Dietrich (nee: Miller). He will be forever remembered by his two daughters, Pam Dietrich and Deb (Dale) Hartung; granddaughters, Taylor and Kyla Hartung; brother, Tom (Karen) Dietrich; sisters, Gloria Dietrich and Ann (Kevin) Denny; sisters-in-law, Reta Ertel, Laurie Miller, Margaret Miller; brother-in-law, Edwin (Adele) Miller; his companion, Mary Ann Quehl as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was also predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Cecilia Dietrich; his sister, Mary Patricia Dietrich and brothers-in-law, Claude Ertel, Arnold Miller, Robert Miller and Clayton Dietrich. Donald retired in 1997 after serving 41 years with the St. Clements Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Captain from 1975-1987 and then Deputy Chief from 1987-1990. He was employed with the Township of Wellesley Roads Department for 15 years, was a member of the Greenwood Rod and Gun Club, active with the St. Clements Community Centre Board and will be remembered and missed by his fellow hockey players and his fishing and hunting buddies. He was a devoted Detriot Red Wings fan. Friends are invited to share their memories of Donald with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday April 13, 2009 and Tuesday, April 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement’s RC Church, 3619 Lobsinger Line, St. Clements on Wednesday, April 15 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Hetu as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Clements Cemetery. Condolences for the family and donations to the Don Dietrich Memorial Fund, c/o St. Clements Recreational Service Board or to St. Clement’s RC Church may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.
