Died peacefully with family at his side at St. Marys General Hospital in Kitchener on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the age of 92.
Cherished father of Helen Weber (Robert) and Peggy Fraser. Beloved grandfather of Alicia, Craig, Oona and Angus, and great-grandfather of Emily. Lovingly remembered by his step-children, Judianne Kieswetter (Ray) and Susan Pringle and their families. Dear uncle to his nieces, Ruth Doran, Edee Schmitt (Doug), Edna Rehkopf and Jean Fischer (Henry), and nephew, Alex Service (Judith).
He is predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn (nee Service); by his second wife, Gertrude (nee Forler); parents John Vogt and Anna (nee Schaefer); and by his brothers, Charles, Ernest and George Vogt.
He retired from Canada Trust after a lengthy career in the banking industry. He was a member of the Kinsmen and K-40 Clubs and the KW Retired Businessmen's Club. He was actively involved at St. Marks Lutheran Church for many years and supported Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. He lived his faith. Over the years he much-enjoyed curling, golf, dancing, bridge, travel, and especially his friends and family, including his cousins and all their wonderful children. In recent years Harold lived at the Sunshine Centre, Luther Village. He appreciated the care and respect he and Gertie received there and especially the friendships that blossomed.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 825 King St. W., Kitchener on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. Reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall.

In living memory of Harold, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
