Lewcock, William Henry John ("Wild Willie")
Passed away at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday November 21, 2010 at the age of 94 years.
Survived and sadly missed by his children Wendy Cooper and her husband Larry of Waterloo; Bryan Lewcock and his wife Bonnie of Kitchener, grandchildren Penny McIntyre of Beamsville , Jackie and Rick Generaux of Waterloo, Stacey Dodds of Los Angeles. California, Jennifer and Brian Hamblin of Bracebridge, and Amy and Brent Strub of Kitchener. Also Great grandchildren Dylan and Sean Generaux.
Predeceased by his wife Frances in 1998
Born in England in 1916, he served in the British Army from 1935 until 1953 attaining the rank of Battery Sergeant Major in the Royal Artillery. From 1939 to 1945 he received a world tour the compliments of the British Military. Bill worked as a bindery foreman in the printing industry from the time he immigrated to Canada in 1957 until his retirement in 1983. He was the proud recipient of numerous caregiver and volunteer awards for his dedication and support at Westheights Long Term Care and The Alzheimer Society.
Honoring Bill's personal wishes cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to a service celebrating Bill's life, at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday November 24th, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Internment at Parkview Cemetery for immediate family only.
