Obituary of John Metzger

Passed away, peacefully, at the Village of Winston Park on Monday, November 22, 2010, at the age of 77. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris (nee Bast); children, Larry and Beth Metzger, Elaine and Leo Mortensen, Anita Bast and Ikenna Uche, Julie and Parry Herteis; and granddaughters, Melinda, Rachel, Valerie, Laura, Katelyn, Ashley, and Amy. Dear brother of Vernon, Stanley (deceased) and his surviving wife Alice, Vera and Nelson Martin, Emanuel and Mary, Rebecca Cressman, Erma and Ken Baker, Marie and Ernie Fretz, Ernie and Helen, and Marlene and Murray Baker. Predeceased by his parents, George and Nancy Metzger, sisters-in-law Dorothy and Rose Marie, and brother-in-law Curtis Cressman. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of John with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, November 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St., St. Jacobs on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Diller Harder and Pastor Kevin Derksen officiating.
