Obituary of Leona Cressman

Leona died peacefully at Fairview Mennonite Home on Thursday, December 2, 2010, in her 94th year. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Melinda (Weber) Cressman, sisters Orpah, Ruby and husband Wilfred McLeod, brothers Joseph and wife Dorothy (Heer), Wellington, Kenneth in infancy and nephew Stuart McLeod. Survived by sister-in-law Dorcas Cressman (Wellington), nephews David McLeod, Bruce, Douglas, Dennis and Daniel Cressman and niece Dawne Cressman. Leona felt called to the mission field and after theological preparation, was commissioned by her home church (Stirling Avenue Mennonite) to go to India. She served there for more than thirty years at the International Woodstock School in Mussoorie with 450 students from kindergarten to grade 12; greatly loved by students, faculty and staff, retiring in 1981, and returning to Kitchener.
