My deepest sympathies to you Merv, Lisa and Chris on the passing of your dear wife and mother. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with family and with the Lord...the hope of our Christian faith. Weather permitting, I am hoping to come Sunday with Kevin and Laura Lynn...but if not, please know I am with you in heart and in prayers and may you all sense the peace and comfort only God can give. Sincerely, Irene

Although our families have not spent a lot of time together, we share a family member, Marion. Through her, we have followed your recent unhappy journey and have prayed for all of you. We continue to do that and wish you strength for the days ahead. You must be proud of the great woman that Shirley was and the richness she contributed to all around her. Sharon Ferreira (Lehman)

Merv, Lisa & Chris, It has been a great many years that I have worked with Shirley and although I hadn't worked closely with her, I relied on her expertise and guidance many times. She was like having your Mom at the office! I thought a lot of her and know that my Dad loved to tease her and tell her jokes that she laughed and groaned at regularly! They shared the hip replacement experience and I think Dad asked her a lot of questions about her experience and she had to listen to long stories about his! She always did and she was so wonderful! I know she had a lot of respect and admiration from all of us who knew her over the years here at PIB and RWAM. Since I learned of her illness I felt sad and thought of her and all of you often. I can still see her smile and hear her laugh. I'll miss her! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I only met Shirley 5 years ago, she very quickly became a confidant and friend. I'm going to miss having lunch with her each day, and hearing stories of all of you, and especially of her adored grandchildren. That twinkle she'd get in her eye when she had a funny story to share, or was going to tease (especially about the salt!!) will be greatly missed. I'm greatful I was blessed in getting to share her short journey just a little these past few months in that I got to know her even better. May God bless all of you, and may your warm wonderful memories of an amazing woman help sustain you through this difficult time. We will all miss our friend.

Merv, Lisa and Chris,
I will forever treasure the 20+ years I have shared with Shirley. We connected heart to heart when we met and I will always be blessed by keeping her just there. We met at Dominion Life Assurance Company - simply working together back in the 1980's. We became friends - ones that didn't require being together all of the time - simply knowing that we were connected.
We had the pleasure of sharing so many ups and downs together - like true friends do. Know that she loved all of you very deeply. She will always be protecting you from above.
Heart to Heart - Karen.

I know that I am not alone when I express that Shirley was like a "second mother" to me. That was just her kind and gentle nature. There are many of us in the company who looked to her for guidance and always received words of wisdom. She loved to hear about our family and in turn, shared so many precious memories that she had created with her family, especially recollections of Macey and Ela. Shirley loved shopping, something which I can appreciate, and she was always picking up things here and there for many different people. That was her thoughtful nature. Whenever I needed more dishcloths, or she found some yarn that she knew I would like for a scarf, it was nothing for her to whip one up. (I have about 7!! and I love every one of them.) Anyway, to you Merv, Lisa and Chris, I feel so privileged and blessed to have encountered someone in my life like Shirley and for that, I will forever be grateful. You should feel so very proud to know that she touched the lives of so many people.

Thank you for allowing all of us to be a part of the journey. Shirley meant so much to each and every one of us - a great friend, co-worker and role model. I loved her so much and will miss seeing her smiling face and gentle voice, especially calling me "Nurse Nosy". My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear, Merv, Chris, Lisa & families, I wish to express my most sincere condolences over your loss. As you may know, Shirley made a huge impression on me in a very short period of time. She took me into her home & under her wing and I will always be very grateful for this. I look back on my time living with Shirley & Merv with fond memories and will always remember the time I got to spend with her. She was very special and will be missed by many. I am thinking of you all at this very difficult time. Sincerely Stephen
