Obituary of Jialong Wu

Passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 20, 2010 at home, age 39 years. Loving husband to Lu Dong for 14 years. Wonderful and caring father to Yifan and Wayne. Sadly missed by his parents Zhengjun Wu and Lishuang Liu, sisters and brother, Jiahu Wu and family; Jiayun Wu and family; Jiahui Wu and family; parents-in-law Shuren Dong and Minmin Yu. Jialong was born in Anhui Province, China. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Zhejiang University where he met his wife, Lu. At his lovely home in Hangzhou, he and Lu embraced their daughter Yifan. Later on, he moved to Waterloo Ontario and worked at the University of Waterloo as a research scientist. Shortly after, he savored the addition of his son Wayne to the family. During his 8 years at the University of Waterloo, Jialong devoted himself on the research of advanced rubber technology. He co-authored a book, published 8 papers and issued 4 patents. Honouring Jialong's personal request, cremation will take place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jialong with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday, (today) December 22, 2010 from 1-5 pm. Traditional Buddhist ceremony will be from 1-3 pm. Eulogies and Tributes will be given at 3 pm with visitation continuing to 5 pm.
