Obituary of Rosa Hoswitschka
Passed away at Lanark Heights Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener on Christmas Day, December 25, 2010 at the age of 97. Rosa was born on October 1, 1913 in Austria-Hungary (Czechoslovakia) and came to Canada in 1957. She later married Franz Hoswitschka who predeceased her in 1970.
Rosa is survived by her her sister, Ruth Gruber of Kitchener; step-children, Herbert Hoswitschka (Eileen) of Ottawa and Margaret Bayer (Joseph) of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of David Fehrenbach (Alicia) of Windsor, Dale Fehrenbach of London, Cindy Fehrenbach of Kitchener, Pamela Hendry (Dr. Paul) of Ottawa, Kim Roditis (James) of Ajax, Tim Hoswitschka of Ottawa, Michael Bayer of Waterloo, and Laurie Hewitt (Neal) of Alma; great-grandmother of Tristan (Natalie), Danica, Angelica, Christine, and Patrick; and great-great-grandmother of Solveig. Sadly missed by her faithful visiting granddog, Oliver. Also survived by nieces Ruth and Inge and their families and nephew Manfred and his family, all of Germany.
Predeceased by her parents, Johann Blumentritt and Ida Lichtnecker of Austria; her first husband, Herbert Model in 1943; brother, Hans in 1990 and his wife Elfrieda in 1993; brother-in-law, Franz Gruber in 1984; and step-daughter, Erna Fehrenbach in 2008 and her husband Wilfrid in 1997.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. A reception will immediately follow the mass at the church. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
