Obituary of Clarence Blain
Passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 31, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 88 years.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 46 years Renee (Beatrice) in 1991 and brothers George, Bill, Fred and Gordon.
Survived by his sons, Rickard (Carolyn), Randy (Linda), Kevin (Patti), grandpa to Sheri (Dean), Lisa (Scott), Sara (Brandon), Michael (Lori) and great-grandpa to Jaxon. He is survived by his brother Bob (Yvette), sisters-in-law Marne and Adelle, Gerry and Noreen. Special friend to Mary and her daughters Candice, Nancy (George), Kim, Tracey (Rob), Donna (Ian), and grandchildren.
Clarence served his country during the Second World War. After his retirement from the University of Waterloo, he continued to work at Swanson's Home Hardware on Park Street until his recent illness in November 2010. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530, Waterloo.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Clarence with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Clarence's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 5 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. A family interment service will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
