Obituary of Cherie Neilson

Passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at St. Mary's General Hospital after a 2 year struggle with COPD, age 81 years. After celebrating 60 years of marriage she leaves behind her loving husband Roger G. Neilson. Dear mother of Wendy Neilson (Ralph Hammell) of Port Elgin, Laurie Haladyn of Elora, Shelley Neilson of Lanark and Brad Neilson (Myrna) of Baden. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Patrick Finch (Jennifer), Gregory Finch (Carrie), Alex and Douglas Haladyn, Owen and Jeffrey Laflamme, Jodie Neilson and great granddaughter Abegail Finch. Also survived by sisters Donna Desmarais and Denise Schneider of Chatham. Predeceased by her parents Amedie and Minnie Belanger and a brother Robert Belanger. Cremation has taken place with interment in Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. Friends are invited to share their memories of Cherie during visitation on Thursday, January 6th, 2011 from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo. The Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Marian Gills-McLeod officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room.
