Obituary of Stella Hoerl

Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener on Monday, January 3, 2011 in her 90th year. Devoted mother of daughters Elaine (Murray) Schwartz and Karen (Larry) Schnarr. Survived by her five grandchildren, Richard (Debbie) Schwartz, David Schwartz (Jane Mitchinson-Schwartz), Cheryl (Jeff) MacLean, Jason Schnarr (Heather Ness), and Deb Schnarr (Bill Young) and by her nine great-grandchildren, Emilie, Matthew, Christian, Cameron, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Jamie, Danielle and Amanda. Also survived by her brothers, Fred (Barb) Walther and Doug Walther; sisters-in-law Marie Walther and Trudy Hoerl; and brother-in-law Garvin Duench. Fondly remembered by Reiner Haussler. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Ervin Hoerl in 2004; brother, Ed Walther; and sisters Pauline Hornburg, Norma Peterson, Irene Hahn and Daisy Walther. Stella worked for Ontario Glove for many years both in their shop and from her sewing room at home. She lovingly sewed clothing for all of her family. In her spare time, Stella was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunnyside Home - Shantz Hill for their compassionate care of Stella during her stay there. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 317 Franklin St. N., Kitchener on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Koellner officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall. For those who wish to attend, interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo following the reception.
