Obituary of Yvonne Heimpel

Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at the age of 80. Loving wife of Walter for 58 years. Beloved mother of Barbara (Mark) Hanley, and Richard (Fern); loving grandma of Steven (Ingrid), David, Jessica, Mitchell and Courtney; proud great-grandma of Estelle and Isaak; dear sister of Marlene Edwards, and Donald and Harold Fischer. She will be missed by her many cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Harold and Alfreida Fischer, brother Bill Fischer, and sister Laurine Buller. Yvonne was a devoted lifelong member at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Kitchener. She worked in food service at Waterloo Lutheran (Wilfrid Laurier), and Beaver Foods at Conestoga College, Waterloo for many years. Yvonne volunteered at Leisureworld, Elmira and will be remembered as the 'Teddy Bear Lady' for donating bears to the residents. Yvonne was a selfless giver who enjoyed bringing joy to others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to share their memories of Yvonne with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Rev. Nancy Kelly officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment in Memory Gardens.
