Obituary of Donald Lorimer
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the age of 77 years.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Pat Lorimer, his loving children Heather (David) Morton, Carolyn Lorimer, Carrie Ann Lorimer (predeceased in 1960) and Donald Lorimer (predeceased in 1998), his cherished grandchildren Cameron, Christopher and Alexander Morton and Rachel Lorimer. Donald is also survived by his brother Douglas (Robbie) Lorimer, sister-in-law Kathleen Lorimer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was predeceased by his parents Barrie and Carrie Lorimer, sisters Norma (George) Swanston, Carol (John) Fraser, Barry Lorimer, Neil (Miriam) Lorimer, and twin brother Ronald (Heather) Lorimer.
Don was involved in many local service clubs and organizations and was part of a well known family in the real estate industry.
The family would like to, with all our love, express our deepest thanks to Tammy Tebbutt, mother of Rachel Lorimer, for your ongoing love and support (we could not have done this without you). Special thanks are extended to Dr. Fortin, Dr. Sharieff, Dr. Molman, Cathy McLean, Doug Evans, Rev. John Lougheed, Rev. Monika Wiesner and the nurses of 5D South and Radiation at Grand River Hospital.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Calvary United Church, 48 Hawksville Road, St. Jacobs on Wednesday, January 19 at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 131 Flax Mill Drive, Conestogo. A reception will be held in the church hall of St. Matthews Church, Conestogo following the interment.

This was a four week journey filled with love, laughter and kindness and gave a whole new meaning to Christmas in our family…the best we ever had.
