Obituary of Kasper van Konijnenburg

Passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener on January 15, 2011. Kasper is survived by his loving sisters, Emma Langejan - van Konijnenburg and Johanna (Jopie) Ida van Haastert - van Konijnenburg, and many nephews and nieces, all in Holland. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernice (Acott) (1999); his parents, Cornilius van Konijnenburg and Anna Karla (Huppeden); and his sisters, Elisabeth Vermaas - van Konijnenburg and Augusta (Guusje) van Konijnenburg. Kasper will be fondly remembered by his special friends, Jim and Vikki Tait and their family, and Leo and Gisele Thorne and their daughter, Tammy. He was born in Dutch Indonesia and came to Canada from Holland. Residing in Brantford, he met and married his true love, Bernice, with whom he was very happily married for 38 years. They moved to Kitchener and Kasper was proud to work for St. Mary's Hospital in the electrical department for 18 years where he became a department head before his retirement in 1985. Kasper had a love over many years for his dogs and will be missed by Sheba, who is presently residing with the Thorne family and regularly visited Kasper at Trinity. He was a true gentleman with a friendly smile, a sense of humour and a good nature, which contributed to his many friendships throughout the years. Keeping with Kasper's wishes, a fellowship time will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. with a remembrance time for everyone at 10:30a.m. There will be a private interment later at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford. Kasper wished to express his sincere appreciation to the staff on Pine Woods at Trinity, the visiting personal care workers from Robertson Brown Health Services, and Dr. David Rainham, for their kindness and care over the past years.
