Obituary of Grace Jutzi
Grace is survived by her husband of 59 years, Merlin Jutzi. Also survived by her son Calvin Jutzi (Judy Gascho-Jutzi), granddaughter Catherine (Jeremy Kimmel) Hummel and a grandson Jake Jutzi; daughters-in-law Helen (Marvin 1992), Chris (Kevin 1996) and Tammy (Robin 1998). Survived by sister Sadie Palmer (Rodger) and sisters-in-law Mae Snider, Phyllis Lehman, Laurie Jutzi and Lucetta Stauffer (Enos).
Predeceased by her parents Edwin and Lydian Bast of Topping, brother Sanford and his wife Mattie Bast and Grace's sons Marvin, Kevin and Robin.
Grace's volunteering in the community included being a founding member of the K-W Chapter Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, working for Community Justice as well as her many quilts for MCC and other charities.
Grace was honoured as an Oktoberfest woman of the year in 1981 and received the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.
Grace enjoyed her many camp friends and the summers she spent at Chesley Lake Camp.
The Jutzi family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday, January 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will take place at First Mennonite Church 800 King St. E., Kitchener on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gary Knarr officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
