Obituary of George Lyness

In peace and in dignity at St. Mary's General Hospital on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in his 76th years. Beloved husband of the late Moyra Evelyn (nee Foley) in 1999. Loving father of Thomas Rory Bovill Lyness and Torin Bovill Lyness. Proud, doting grandfather of Torin Matthew Bovill Lyness. Wonderfully happy father-in-law of Sandra Milena. Sadly missed by siblings James (Jeanette) and Doreen. Loving partner of Yvonne Cameron for many years. Predeceased by parents James and Jennifer Lyness and uncle George Bovill of Glasgow, Scotland. George was a devoted member of 404 K-W Wing Royal Canadian Air Force Association and was member of the year in 2007. He was extremely involved in the 404 K-W Wing and in the community. He volunteered for Waterloo Minor Soccer in the 1970's, his teams were notoriously undefeated. He had a strong devotion to his team and the players. He will be sadly missed. A funeral service to celebrate George's life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the 404 K-W Wing (510 Dutton Drive Waterloo). Cremation has taken place.
