Obituary of Carl Zarnke

Passed away peacefully at his home in Ottawa, on February 20, 2011 at the age of 91. He lived most of his life in the Kitchener/Waterloo area, but the last 10 years were spent with his daughter and grandchildren in Ottawa. Cherished father of Diane Zarnke. Devoted grandfather to Jeffery Maahs and his wife Zornitza, Lindsay Maahs and her boyfriend Maurice Henry, and Stephen Maahs and his fiancée Katie MacLeod. Best friend to great grandson Isaiah Maahs. Predeceased by his loving wife Mabel, his parents Otto and Gertrude Zarnke, sisters Kathleen Osborn and Ruth Zarnke and brother Robert Zarnke. Survived by sisters Eileen Zarnke and Carolyne Smith and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to share their memories of Carl with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, February 26, from 12 - 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo will be followed by a reception at the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
