Obituary of Ronald Herter

Peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2011 just three days short of his 69th birthday. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee: Thaler) since 1984. Loving father of Jeffery Herter and his wife Theresa and Wendy Joyes and her husband Tom. Proud grandfather of Paige and Austin Herter and Cody and Ethan Rayson. Sadly missed by father Howard Herter. Predeceased by his mother Hope in 1994. Ron was a member of the K-W Naval Association and was a life member of the Waterloo Siskins. He loved crossword puzzles and was an avid MASH and Star Trek: The Next Generation fan. He enjoyed relaxing at the Old Homestead in Bayfield. Ron worked for Canada Post for 35 years and it was his job that fueled his large stamp collection. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ron with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, March 13 (Ron's birthday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Ron's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 14 at 11 a.m. Rev. Donald C. Nevile to officiate. Reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau will take place at a later date.
