Obituary of April MacNeill

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lee on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 55 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, handled with dignity and without complaint. She tried to help others by participating in a trial testing of a new chemotherapy but a spinal cord compression ended that wish. Beloved wife of Bill after 35 years of marriage. Loving mother of Brad and his wife Christina Reed of Guelph. Ecstatic grandmother of Isla. Survived by her parents Gary and Wanda Allan of Toronto. Sadly missed by siblings Jane Monson and her husband Gary, Adrian Allan and his wife Marie-Andree and Amy Allan and her husband Jeff Farrugia. Lee leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Ryan (1998) and brother Darrell Allan (2008). Lee adored her children and it was an ultimate thrill to be a first time grandmother. She loved cruises to Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and the Mediterranian. Lee enjoyed reading a good book, cooking meals for her family and gardening. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lee with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 11-11:45 a.m.. A memorial service to celebrate Lee's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at noon. Reception to follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Private family interment to take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
