Obituary of David Greenstein
Peacefully, after a short illness, at St.Mary's Hospital (Kitchener) on Tuesday March 15, 2011 at the age of 70 years.
Beloved husband of Yolande (nee Legault).
Dear father of Daniel of Newmarket and Camille of Toronto.
Loving son of the late Anne and Sam Greenstein of Montreal.
Dear brother of Elaine Minsky (Sam) of Toronto.
He will be missed by sister-in-law Margaret Legault, brother-in-law Carl Morin, nieces and nephews: Adam Minsky (Heidi), Katie Brown (Jesse), Emma Minksy, Dean Morin, Marc Legault, Mona Legault, and Joanne Mayer (Jean-Pierre).
He was educated at Sir George Williams University (Concordia), Montreal and later at the University of Waterloo.
He briefly taught physical education in Hawkesbury, Ontario, before settling in Kitchener-Waterloo in 1967.
Dave was a psychometrist with the Waterloo County Separate School Board from 1970 until 1980. He established Student & Family Services in Waterloo in 1980. This later became Educational & Family Services and Austin School (for children with learning disabilities).
He also worked in private practice in Walkerton, ON until recently.
He touched the lives of many personally and professionally and will always be remembered for his kindness, caring, and compassion.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Dave with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 Kings St. S., Waterloo on Friday March 18th, between 7 and 9pm. A funeral service to celebrate Dave's life will be held in chapel of the funeral home at 11am on Saturday March 19th followed by the interment at Parkview Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
