Obituary of Erma Neeb

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with her family by her side at Grand River Hospital on April 11, 2011 at age 86. She was born in Mannheim on July 11, 1924, daughter of the late Clarence and Clara Klie. She was predeceased by her brother Peter and sister Florence. Erma was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim and a faithful member of the ELW. Predeceased by her husband Reuben George Neeb on May 10, 1969. Erma is survived by and will be missed by her children, Karen Dietrich and David Neeb (Jennifer). Loving grandma of Michael Dietrich (Anne Marie), Kathy Pingos (Charlie), Christine Dietrich, Paul Dietrich (Melissa), Jonathan Neeb (Jennifer) and Andrew Neeb. Erma especially loved her great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Dietrich, Emilie Dietrich, Brianna, Nick and Kurtis and Benjamin and Jacob Neeb, and her special little buddy Riley. Erma was blessed with a second family when she married Lloyd John Neeb on July 2, 1971. They shared many happy years until his passing on December 21, 1994. His children were her children and they enjoyed a warm and loving relationship; Bill Neeb (Isabel) and Betty Futher and the late Jerome. Erma will be missed by her grandchildren Jane Weeden (David), and George Neeb, great-grandchildren, Derek and Daniel Neeb, Jacob, Jonah and Elijah Neeb, Paul Futher and Terry Futher(Stephanie), and great-granddaughters Ella and Abigail Futher. Erma is fondly remembered by Stewart and Phyllis Dahmer and John and Virginia McDonald and their families. Erma loved to travel and garden, play cards, quilt and bake. She taught us all well, and we have wonderful memories to cherish. Erma moved to the Village Manor in St. Jacobs in February 2011 and was in the company of many friends and staff who brightened her days. Special thanks to Wesley and Debbie Moore for their kindness and concern. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at Grand River Hospital who gave Erma excellent care. Friends are invited to share their memories of Erma with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, April 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate a life well lived will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. Following the service, friends are invited to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
