Obituary of Howard Heaton
Howard passed away Wednesday April 13th after a courageous four month battle with cancer.
He leaves his loving wife and best friend Joan, children Darrell (Lisa), Karen (Karim), Caroline (Peter), his much loved grandchildren Caleb, Patrick, Tyler, Sage, Kaelin and Kari.
Howard was predeceased by his son Tim in 2006.
Howard enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing, highlighted by the outfitting of NHL players with Bauer Skates and providing matches for Air Force One. He also enjoyed traveling to England with Wilkinson Sword. Howard was active in the K-W community, serving on Waterloo's parks and recreation board, the C.O.E. board of directors, with the Jaycees and coaching minor hockey. While volunteering with the Grand River Hospital, Howard was part of the team that was instrumental in bringing Tim Hortons to the hospital. Howard was an avid New York Yankees and Chicago Bears fan. Those who knew him will miss his ever-present sense of humour and storytelling.
At Howard's request there will be no funeral. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
