Obituary of Georg Fritsch
Georg died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. He was 91.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Katharina (Botscher). He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons and their wives, Georg and Trudy of St. Clements, Reinhold and Linda of Waterloo and Michael and Margit of Crosshill. Opa was very special and admired by his grandchildren, Peter and Karen, Andrew and Jacquie, Eric, Tiffany and Pat, Aimee and Dave, Danielle and Lisa. Uhr Opa will be fondly remembered by Julia, Alexander, Danika, Brandon, Noah, Manny, Sophia and Adriana. Georg is also survived by his sister Rosina Schlecht and her husband George of Hilliard, OH; and his nieces and nephews, Rosemary and Erich Gellner, Georgina, Susan and Gertrud Frim and their families. He was predeceased by his sister Katharina Frim and nephews George, Mike and John Frim.
Georg immigrated to Canada with his family in 1954. He was a lifelong member of the Transylvania Club and a founding member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, got great satisfaction in his garden where he grew grapes for his homemade wine.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Georg with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 1 pm with Rev. Enzo Pellini officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends and relatives are invited to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
