Obituary of Richard Bunyard

Richard passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga in his 91st year. He will be dearly missed. Richard was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada in 1947. Devoted husband to Ruth for 45 years and the late Margaret (1962); loving father of Julie Ann (Alex) Hastie and Paul (Nancy) Bunyard; dear grandfather of Kimberley (Cory) Abt, Scott (Janice) Hastie, and Meaghan Hastie; Christine (Brad) Darling and Laura Bunyard; beloved great-grandfather of Spencer and Emily Abt and Amy, Jenna, Jack and Leah Darling; eldest brother of Marjorie and Michael (dec.). Richard retired after 37 years from The Robert Simpson Company in Toronto. He served with the Royal Navy in WWII and retired as Commander of HMCS York in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve. Dick enjoyed a game of golf, his many worldwide travels and a gin and tonic to the last.
