Obituary of Marjorie Reist

Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born in 1929, she was the daughter of Cecil and Doris Byers of Owen Sound. She helped many residents in the farming area even as a teenager. She will be lovingly remembered by two sisters, Naomi Guse, wife of Clarence Guse, and Shirley McLean, wife of Calvin McLean (deceased). She was a sister to Ruth Gordon (deceased), Jean Byers (deceased). She also had five brothers (all deceased). On August 31, 1957, she married Lester Reist, born near New Dundee. She became the mother of Brent and Lori, born in 1964 and 1971 respectively. Marjorie loved knitting, quilting and gardening. She was mother-in-law to Michele Dredge, wife of Brent and to Colin Young, husband of Lori. In 2003 Kasia was born to Lori. Then in 2008 Alicia came along. Marjorie was their Nana and dearly loved them. Memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St., S, Waterloo, on Thursday, June 9th, 2011, from 2 - 4 p.m. and from 7 - 9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Marjorie's life will be held on Friday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Evangelical Missionary Church, 160 Lancaster St., East, Kitchener, where she was a member. Final visitation will be held at the Church at 10:30 a.m.
