Obituary of Amelia Reitzel
Passed away, among her loving family, on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, after a struggle with many illnesses, at the age of 73.
She will be fondly remembered by her loving husband of 50 years, Francis Reitzel of St. Clements. Mother of six children, Rick Reitzel of Kitchener, Lucille Dice (Dan) of Kitchener, Ron Reitzel (Carole, nee Ziegler) of Waterloo, David Reitzel of Kitchener, Pat Reitzel (partner Dale) of Kitchener, and Patricia Fritz (Steve) of Kitchener. Special grandma to Jessica Dice, Jordan Dice, Nikki Fritz, and Olivia Reitzel. Loving sister to Florence Reinhart of Cambridge, Rose Schade of Kitchener, and Theresa Lindo and her husband Jose of Kitchener.
Predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Michalina (nee Pittner) Waechter, and brothers Joseph and Charles Waechter.
Amelia enjoyed gardening at her home. She loved to have many flowers and her home showed it. She took pleasure in baking for her family, especially her fresh fruit pies which they enjoyed.
We wish to thank the 5th floor doctors and nurses at Grand River Hospital for their special care and empathy towards our family. Many thanks to Heritage House Nursing Home in St. Jacobs for their kindness and care while Amelia was there. Thanks to Erb & Good Funeral Home for their kindness and help through this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, June 12 from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday, June 13 from 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 27 King St. W., St. Clements on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Hetu officiating. A reception will follow the mass at the St. Clements Community Centre. Interment at St. Clements RC Cemetery following cremation.
