Obituary of Joanne Howlett

Peacefully, after a lengthy struggle with cancer, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Friday, June 10, 2011, in her 72nd year. Dearly loved mother of Bill Smith and Kim Demers and her husband Leo. Nanny to Krista (Dwayne), Jennifer (Jesse), and Kori (Meaghan). Joanne fondly remembered grandsons Shawn and Todd. Nanny to great-grandchildren, Lexie, Kiara, Taylor, Forest, Autumn, and Jessica. Much loved sister of Susan Watson and husband Bob (Whip). Special aunt to Jeff and Barb, James and Juli, Cathy and Trevor, Lisa and Dave and their families. Sadly missed by her beloved dog, Jake. Predeceased by her husband James Howlett in 2002 and parents, Stu and Feme Ebel. Joanne was a dedicated employee of Kitchener Utilities Division for over 30 years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Joanne's life will be held in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S.,Waterloo on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
