Obituary of Maria Rauh

Tragically passed away as the result of an automobile accident on August 17, 2011. Beloved mother of Veronica (Andy) Emrich and Hilda (Kevin) Brooks. Loving Oma of Andrea (Alex) Kenny, Stephanie (Darrin) Boutilier, Christopher (Sabrina) Emrich, Ashley Brooks and friend Darcy, and Adam Brooks. Great-Oma of Victoria and Stephen Kenny, Lucas and Holden Boutilier, and Niklas and Sophia Emrich. Dear sister of Gerda (Michael) Theiss and Katharina (Michael) Schlecht and their families of Austria. Maria will be fondly remembered by her two sisters-in-law and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Martin (2004) and great-grandson Logan Boutilier (2005). Maria was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Kitchener. She was a long standing member of the Transylvania Club and Choir, as well as a Past President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Transylvania Club for 15 years. She received recognition from the Ontario Government for her active volunteering within the German Community. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Maria participated in TV programs for the German Community. She was employed with Eaton's until her retirement. She had an outgoing personality and was a friend to many. Friends are invited to share their memories of Maria with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20 from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. A service to remember Maria and celebrate her life will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 206 Duke St. E., Kitchener, on Monday, August 22, at 1 p.m.. with Rev. Enzo Pellini officiating. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Following the committal service at the cemetery friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home for a refreshments and a time to share memories of Maria's life.
