Obituary of Madeleine Bowman
Madeleine passed away at her cottage at Sauble Beach on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late Howard Bowman (1999). Loving mother of Claire Bowman and her partner Roger Miller, Frank Bowman and Kitty Tsang and her husband Hugh Cumming. Cherished grandmother of Allison Atkins, Alistair and Elliott Tsang, Katrina, Carla and Kirk Bowman, and great-grandmother of Ryan Atkins.
Survived and sadly missed by her brothers Frank Sundback (Claudette) and Ralph Sundback (Lucille) and her sister Genevieve Ranger as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased also by her son Donald (1988) and daughter-in-law Beverly Bowman (2009).
Madeleine was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association Wing 404 Ladies Auxiliary and held positions as president and historian in her tenure. She also loved being a volunteer for various associations in Waterloo, and was recognized in 1997 for ten years of volunteering in Waterloo. Her greatest love was spending her spring, summer and fall with family and friends at the cottage in Sauble Beach on Lake Huron.
Honouring Madeleine's personal wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Madeleine with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday, August 28 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home.
A private interment will take place at a later date at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
Madeleine's family would like to extend special thank's to Dr. Casey and his staff, CCAC staff in Kitchener and Owen Sound, to Karen from the Owen Sound Red Cross as well as the people at the Freeport Health Geriatric Centre for their wonderful care. A further special thanks is extended by the family to Madeleine's friends at Sauble Beach for their kind assistance to Madeleine over the past few cottage seasons.
