My mother, Gerry (Miller) Workentin and my Aunt Betty were cousins and very close friends growing up. Together with their husbands (Wally and Clarence), some would say BECAUSE of their husband's love of fishing, they also shared many holidays through the years on and around Manitoulin Island (little Current and the Drieberg cottages). Even when our family moved to Timmins we would often share summer holidays on the island together. When we would travel down to KW we would always include a visit with them. These are the basis of many happy memories for my mom and dad and us as children. Betty was like a sister to my mother when they were young. Though the distance and years made it more difficult to get together, my mom (and dad) were happy that their last trip to the island in the early 1990's was with them. My mom was also happy to have reconnected about a year ago visiting them in Paris during one of her trips down to see her grandkids. There is a special place in my mom's heart for Betty. On behalf of her and our family, I express our condolences at the passing of a wonderful woman. I will mostly remember her for her humour- she always shared a good laugh. To my Uncle Clarence, Bill and family we hope you can celebrate the many happy memories and life of Aunt Betty. May she rest in peace. With Sympathies, The Workentin Family
